Here I am at the beginning of my fitness journey. I’ve had several beginnings, but this is a big one. I never really got back out there after having Sage. I did a very little bit of running and more PiYo, but I never really took off. I then got pregnant with Emerson and took a step back again. Chasing a toddler and walking was the extent of it during my second pregnancy. That totally worked for me and was all I wanted. However, now I’m ready to soar!
Today marks day seven of 21 Day Fix. Leg day! I see why people talk so positively about this program because the workouts are no joke. Typically I just stick to running, but I’m doing things differently this time because doing that in the past has left me injured. I need to strengthen my muscles to be a better runner so that’s why I’m starting here. I basically just googled in search of a plan to get back into running shape. I look forward to training for a race in 2017, but I want to ease into that. I found Hal Higdon’s 12 week plan to get back in shape and it looks doable…maybe. I think I need to start off even slower than it says.
This morning we went to Barnes & Noble in the morning with the boys, then Trader Joe’s, then made a stop at Fleet Feet. My husband is awesome because he knows I wouldn’t get myself there so he just stopped there and made it happen. I wasn’t really sure I’d even get sneakers because I didn’t want to spend a fortune, but I got so lucky. The sales guy did my feet measurements and looked at my stride and brought out two pairs of shoes. The first were Brooks and they were comfortable. The second were saucony and they felt amazing. Even better they were half off and I came to find out I had a $25 credit sitting on my account. $32 for new sneaks and two pairs of new socks = happiness!
