Hey hey hey!
I’m really excited about this post. For the last nine months my posts have focused on pregnancy and I’m so grateful for that journey. Now the time has come for me to focus on my personal fitness goals. I’m currently just two weeks postpartum so I’m not jumping in and doing anything crazy, but just taking simple steps to build towards my big goals. First I should probably share what my goals are. I put a timing on these, but nothing is set in stone on any of them (yet) because it’s too soon to tell when the right time will be. It’s helpful to just lay it out and it inspires me to see what I want to achieve.
Here they are:
Complete the 8 week PiYo program (begin 6 weeks postpartum)
Start running again (September 2016)
Participate in a half marathon race (March or April 2017)
Organize and participate in online fitness groups (ongoing)
Drink Shakeology for breakfast (ongoing and YUM!)
I’d like to get new sneakers and workout gear too, but I think I actually need to get out there and moving first.
Before I got pregnant with Emerson, I was really into PiYo, and then I took a big step away from it during my pregnancy. I know PiYo will make me a better runner and I’m also looking to strengthen and tone my body because after having two babies I could definitely use that! I want to be at my best for my boys. Sage already keeps me running around and I know Emerson will be on the move before we know it. In a few weeks I’ll be working part-time from home and then back full-time at the office come fall. Life is and will continue to be busy so it’s going to be important for me to make time for my goals.
I’d love to have you join too. Like I mentioned, I’ll be running online fitness groups (through a private Facebook group) where we can all inspire each other to push towards our goals. Our goals don’t have to be the same and we don’t have to follow the same program. It’s just about feeling our best and working towards that together.
I’ll be checking in with you once I start PiYo in a few weeks. My husband and I have been walking most mornings with the boys in their strollers and just that feels great. Nice to break a little sweat and getting outside with my family makes me so happy. This morning we went walking at the mall because it was raining out. We got there before the stores even opened and left before lunch. Sage chatted pointing out everything he saw, Emerson slept, and my husband and I got some exercise. Woohoo.
I’m resting up for the hard work and fun to come.
What are your current fitness goals?
