I’m about a week behind on this update, but that’s the way it goes. I didn’t want to skip it because I really love looking back on these posts. They are especially fun to compare with Sage’s baby updates.
Well, it’s been a month filled with A LOT.. A lot of pesky germs from daycare giving my baby an ear infection and colds. He’s been a champ through it all though. I too ended up getting an ear infection that lead to a terrible case of vertigo (but that’s for another post). There’s also been a lot of development and growth from baby boy. For example, he’s rolling all the way over! Gone are the days of him just laying on his back. He flips with ease and is so proud of himself.
Emerson is my ray of sunshine. He’s happy and such a chatterbox. He cracks us all up, Sage especially, when he just babbles away. Just a few days ago we were at the doctor (poor baby is congested) and Emerson is weighing in at 14 pounds. He’s into 9 month clothes.
This month Emerson started rolling back to front at the beginning of the month and now he can roll front to back if he really tries. I’ve got to keep a close eye on my now moving babe who wants to crawl. Here are a few more details from the month:
Likes: Your attention! He’ll give you a big beautiful smile just for coming close to him. The ladies at his daycare adore this. He’s loving putting his fingers in his mouth along with any toy he grabs onto. He quite the conversationalist. I swear he babbles for 45 minutes straight.
Eating: Emerson drinks about six 5 oz. bottles each day or I nurse him. When I got sick with vertigo and quite literally couldn’t get off the couch, I made the tough decision to take some medicine to ease the nausea and dizziness so I could function. While taking that medicine, I could not nurse Emerson and I had to dump anything I pumped. We gave him formula during that time and used my freezer stash. Emerson had no problem with the Earth’s Best formula and chugged it down. Now he’s back to mostly just drinking breast milk as I am back to pumping more again. I know there’s been a growth spurt because Emerson has had days (and nights) of more frequent eating.
Sleeping: Emerson was sleeping in his crib, but this month he’s mostly been in the rock n’ play due to being congested. He’s been getting up once in the night, but there were several nights of more wake-ups. He still takes 3-4 naps each day and they vary in length. He’s a go-with-the-flow little dude and he’ll often sleep in his car seat if we’re out and about or in the baby carrier I wear.
I’m so looking forward to the holidays with my boys. I know I don’t post too often anymore. Life is busy and I find myself just soaking up the moments with my family and being present rather than worrying compiling the details to post about it. I know I typically blog in waves though, so I’ll be more frequent eventually.
Hope all is well in your world!
