How are you? If I had a nickel for every time I thought about a post I wanted to share with you guys, but then didn’t…
Life is busy in a beautiful way. The workdays fly by and then weekends are filled with trying to get everything in order that didn’t happen during the workweek. Most importantly, I’m soaking up the moments with my little boys. Emerson is already seven months old. You might be thinking, “didn’t you just have him?”. That’s how I feel too. He is happiness. Sage is filled with personality and a great sense of humor. At 2.5 years old, he now has an opinion about everything and I don’t go a day without bursting into laughter at the stuff he comes up with.
I really just felt like talking to you, so let the rambling begin. I’m slowly getting back into running. As in sometimes I run and other times I don’t. We had a rough patch of sleep this last week with Emerson and I always put sleep before exercise. However, even when I’m exhausted, I have really been enjoying getting back into yoga. I use the Three Week Retreat program on Beachbody on Demand. I always feel better after taking a few minutes to stretch and relax. It also really helps with my whole healing process from vestibular neuritis. To go along with the healing process, doTERRA essential oils have changed my life. I don’t say that to be dramatic or anything, but really just to put it out there that I think they are fantastic. I now wonder how (and why?) I went all this time without using them. If you follow me on Facebook (which I hope you do, I’d love to connect!), then you’ve probably noticed my passion for them. They helped me heal from getting sick in the fall, they support my family and I daily in a variety of ways, and I feel confident and happy knowing I have them as a part of my toolkit for a happy and healthy life. That’s why I have to share with you!
Before I climbed back into bed to write this post (as in Emerson got me up at the crack of dawn to feed him and then I climbed back into bed, but couldn’t sleep, and decided it was a fantastic opportunity to actually post!), I rubbed Peppermint on my temples and took a sniff of it from the tips of my fingers. I also dabbed a tiny bit right under my nose because I just love the smell of it. It certainly woke me up and I love its cooling and energizing qualities. I’m getting ahead of myself!
Here’s what my day with oils looked like yesterday. Keep in mind that it changes daily because I use oils in different ways each day depending on my needs. That’s the beauty of these lovely naturally occurring compounds! 😉 Also, I didn’t write doTERRA in front of the name of every oil, but know that’s the brand I use because they are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (in other words, awesomeness). I just focus below on the oils part of my day, so if it seems like I skip chunks of time, that’s why. Lastly, I’ve linked all the oils to pages providing more information for you.
3:30am – Climbed back into bed after feeding Emerson. The diffuser was running on my nightstand and pumping out a mist of Frankincense and Lavender. Both oils promote feelings of relaxation. Back to sleep.
6:15am – Working on my hair and makeup. I notice a blemish so I dabbed a little Melaleuca touch on it. That will do the trick. Bye bye, blemish. I then put on my makeup. Ok, really starting to feel awake now.
6:30am – Find socks and grab the Balance blend and fractionated coconut oil. I put a few drops of the coconut oil in my hand along with two drops of Balance and then rub the mixture on the bottoms of my feet. It smells heavenly and I’m already feeling more at ease. I use Balance because it’s grounding and helps me feel calm as I navigate my way through the busy day.
7am – I’m making breakfast shakes. I put a drop of Peppermint in mine because then my chocolate superfood shake tastes like a Starbucks Peppermint Frappuccino. I also take my supplements to feel my best inside and out.
11:30am – It’s been a very busy work morning. Is it really already almost lunch time? I dab a little Balance on my wrists and the back of my neck. Keeping the good vibes going.
1pm – Ok, time to get back to work after a quick lunch break. I dab peppermint on my temples and inhale it from my finger tips. Like earlier, I dab it on the tip of my nose. That will keep me alert and feeling good as I plug through the work afternoon.
6:30pm – I’m feeding Emerson in his room. I have Breathe and Lavender in his diffuser. This is one of my favorite times of day. Just sitting relaxing with him and soaking up all the cuddles. The oils from the diffuser immediately hit my system and a sense of calm passes through me. I choose Breathe for the baby’s room tonight because he’s a bit congested (daycare germs, ugh). Breathe promotes easy breathing and restful sleep.
8pm – The boys are in bed. Time to decompress. I wash my face, brush my teeth and start to get ready for bed. I rub Rosemary behind my ears (eases nervous tension), dab Melaleuca touch on any imperfections on my skin, and put OnGuard touch on my feet. OnGuard is immune boosting and it’s been a winter filled with germs, so I never skip this. I also grab the diffuser from our bedroom and fill it with fresh water and add a few drops of OnGuard. I want that goodness pumping all while I sleep.
8:30pm – Climb into bed and chat with my hubby. He also put his oils on (OnGuard on the feet and Breathe on his chest). My shoulder feels sore so I grab the Deep Blue Rub and massage it in. It immediately feelings hot and icy at the same time. Such a comforting feeling for an achy muscle. That stuff is incredible.
It was a good day.
